Health Testing

Please take the time to educate yourself on health testing and why it is so important to breeding programs.

We use EMBARK & Paw Print Genetics to test our parent dogs on over 190 genetic variants.

This test tells us whether or not the dog is at an increased risk of a genetic health condition(s) and prevents passing them down to their offspring. 

Each parent dog has X-rays taken of their hips. The X-rays are sent to OFA for scoring. OFA scores the hips either excellent, good, mild, moderate, or severe. Alternatively, we will sometimes have the X-rays sent to Pennhip for scoring. We do this testing to prevent hip dysplasia in our dogs.

Each of our parent dogs have an eye examination done by a licensed opthamologist before being bred. This is done so that we can catch eye diseases early and prevent having them passed down to our puppies.
